Anglican Eucharist Worship Service
Anglicans believe that people become members of God's Church through Baptism, and all Christians celebrate Holy Communion (also known as Eucharist) as a shared "meal" (bread/wafer and wine) which they eat together in Jesus' name. All Baptized believers who were Baptized in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are invited to join us in Communion. Those who are not Baptized are invited to join us for a blessing. We offer a gluten-free wafer upon request. Please note the wine is real wine and if you do not wish to partake, simply pass by the individual holding the cup. Further information on Communion and Blessing participation is given at each Worship Service.
Our Goal at St. Timothy’s is families that worship together. Children of all ages are invited to participate in worship. We love the sound of children, knowing that the sound is the future of the church. We also recognize that children mature at
different speeds, and some won’t be ready to join us in worship right away. That’s okay! We have programs that teach our children at appropriate levels.
If you require nursery care for your young children (between 0-2 years old), please let us know! We have several volunteers who are available to staff our nursery, but we do not keep a nursery staffed unless we have a need for it.
Our Children’s program is built on the Godly Play curriculum. Godly Play is a creative, imaginative approach built on a Montessori foundation. It privileges story and reflection while preparing children for a life of faith and worship. It is an incredibly adaptive program that meets children where they are (both intellectually and spiritually) and equips them to make connections within the narrative of scripture. It currently spans from 2 – 12 years old. Parents pick their children up from the Children's area during the Peace, which allows children to be part of Communion and the last part of the Worship Service.
We’re praying for the day when we have enough youth for our own youth program, but until that day we’ve partnered with our planting Church (St. Paul’s Anglican in Summerville) and our host church (Church @ Cane Bay) to offer access to youth programs for those that are interested.
Our Rector, Luke, would appreciate the opportunity to contact you in advance of your visit to see if you have any questions or just to thank you for considering a visit to St. Timothy's! This information is only used for one contact unless you say otherwise and your information is NOT put on a mailing list.
