How We Live Our Faith

Got Questions?

In Gathering . . .

  • We show genuine love to each other
  • We seek to reconcile and be reconciled
  • We recognize we are all broken, no one is better or more valuable than the other
  • We all value each other because we are all created in God's image
  • We are more interested in getting to know who you are rather than what you wear or drive . . . community for the sake of others calls us to reach out!

And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.

Hebrews 10:24-25

In Celebrating . . .

  • We, the baptized believers in our congregation, celebrate the sacrament of Holy Communion (also known as Eucharist) as an outward and visible sign of an inward and spiritual grace
  • We celebrate our lives in Christ together outside of our weekly worship time and here are just a few examples:
    • Baby celebrations
    • Wedding celebrations
    • Get togethers in the homes of those with a gift for hospitality
    • River Dogs baseball games
  • We gather weekly with St. Paul's Reformed Episcopal Church for Bible Study, celebrating both the ecclesiastical and cultural diversity of our two congregations as we study the Word
  • Believing there is but one church in Jesus Christ with many congregations, we seek to have joint events with our sister congregations from within the Diocese of South Carolina, the Reformed Episcopal Church, and other denominations
    • We don't let doctrine stop us from celebrating the Gospel with others who love Christ

For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.

Matthew 18:20

In Giving . . .

  • We are a peculiar people who truly believe Jesus when He tells us that we will be blessed by giving to others
  • We give not only of our treasure, but of our time and talent as well
  • We pray for one another, both in time of need and in time of celebration
  • We believe the words of Jesus when He says that, by giving to others, we will be set free to live a life free of financial worry
  • We have generous servant hearts - for both those inside and outside of our church

Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.
